Dog Obedience Competitions, Trials & Rallies

The Dog Obedience Hut has just been launched on 10th April 2006. This is going to be a very large and comprehensive site, and each section will be added progressively. We are planning to "Go Live" with the Dog Obedience Trials section sometime in May 2006.

Dog Obedience Trials relates to the three levels of dog obedience competition: novice obedience training, open obedience training, and utility obedience training. We will be adding articles detailing the 'how to' of training your dog or puppy to compete at all three levels of this form of dog obedience competition.

The first section we will be developing will relate to Open Obedience Training, and we will be progressively publishing a series of articles on how to train your dog to:

  • Heel

  • Drop In The Distance

  • Drop On Recall

  • Retrieve In Play

  • Holding On Command

  • Carrying On Command

  • Jumping

  • Jumping While Carrying

  • The "Take it!"

  • Reaching For The Dumbbell While Walking

  • Picking Up The Dumbbell From The Ground

  • Picking Up The Dumbbell On Command While Walking

  • Retrieve On Flat

  • Retrieve Over Hurdle

  • The Broad Jump

  • Sit and Down Stays (Handlers out of sight)

So in the meantime, browse through some of our articles (see list below), and bookmark our site and return again over the coming weeks and months to witness and be a part of it's development. We plan to add a forum too sometime in May to enable dog owners and trainers to interact with one another and share their knowledge, experience, and dog problem resolution tips with others. Please come again soon!
